The Employment Unit is part of the Children and Young People's Services of Sheffield City Council.
The Employment Unit works with other partners to gather the local labour market information that is needed to help prepare jobless people for new opportunities, and to build the strategies to help match the qualities that employers require in the workforce with the skills and knowledge that local people have.
It also delivers numerous training programmes in partnership with the Employment Service and the Learning & Skills Council and works with many community and voluntary organisations in the City to deliver training closer to the people who need it.
